Apple has always been about simplicity, but as product lines keep expanding, naming schemes get confusing and complicated.
Take the iPhone, for example. Today, you have the choice of an iPhone 7, 7 Plus, 8, 8 Plus, Xs, Xs Max, or XR. The same can be said about Apple's laptops — there are 19 base configurations spanning across three separate models.
- The laptop sleeve, which can fit up to a 15-inch MacBook Pro, is padded and attached to the back of the bag, as opposed to the bottom. That way, your laptop will remain suspended above the floor.
- The best college laptop for Apple lovers Macbook Air (2017) The MacBook Air is not only the most affordable MacOS machine, but it’s a better value than the next more affordable MacBook.
It's tough for shoppers to determine which Mac laptop to get. To make things easier, we've compared their prices and features and have tested each model's performance and battery life. We're here to help you differentiate and decide which MacBook is best for your needs and budget.
The brushed metal design makes a good match for most Mac models and, like Apple’s Magic Mouse, the entire top panel of the T630 acts as a mouse button, but it’s also touch-sensitive so that. The best Mac for web design is the MacBook Pro. Web design canvases now vary wildly (in the sense responsive sites must support anything from a watch face up to a massive telly), but so too do.

Best Mouse For Mac Pro Laptop For Designer
The MacBook Air has been a beloved laptop for many since Steve Jobs first pulled one from a manila envelope in 2008 during Macworld. Now a decade later, the computer is still incredibly thin and has above-average build quality with a comfortable keyboard, a fantastic trackpad, and an impressive 12- to 13-hour battery life.
It's better than the MacBook in almost every way possible. It's faster, has a nicer display, and lasts longer on a single charge. It's equipped with two Thunderbolt USB-C ports, compared to the MacBook's single one, and it adds Touch ID, so you can unlock your computer using your fingerprint. The Air is also packed with a 'T2 chip,' which allows you to call for Siri with your voice just like you would on your iPhone and iPad. The chip also adds a bunch of security features and handles file encryption.
The MacBook Air, which comes in silver, space gray or gold, has an improved 1.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 Y-series processor. When we tested it, we found that the Air could handle more than 15 tabs on our browser and some light photo editing, but it started to slow down when editing large files — especially since its base model is only configured with 8 GB of RAM. Sound-wise, its built-in speakers sound excellent. They deliver a wide soundstage and surprisingly strong bass for a laptop this thin.
Compared to the last-generation Air, which Apple still sells, it features an updated display with thinner bezels. The screen is sharper and more colorful than the previous Air. It's also the greenest Mac to date and is made using 100% recycled aluminum.
The MacBook Air remains the most affordable Apple laptop. It starts at $1,199 and it comes with 128, 256, or 512 GB of storage (or even 1.5 TB — but for a whopping $900 more), 8 or 16 GB of RAM, and Intel's UHD Graphics 617 GPU. We think the base model will be sufficient for most. The sleek, lightweight laptop delivers enough processing power for writing papers, editing photos, messaging, and streaming music all without a hint of slowing down.
Plus, it comes with a slightly better FaceTime camera than the MacBook (720p versus the MacBook's 480p), and has much better battery life than any other MacBook. Wirecutter said that the Air should last for almost a full work or school day of real-world use, which was in line with our testing.
As we previously mentioned, you can still buy Apple's last-generation MacBook Air. The biggest advantage of the previous model over the newer MacBook Air is its multiple ports. Although the older Air lacks a USB-C port, it has two full-sized USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, a headphone jack, and a Thunderbolt 2 port that doubles as a Mini DisplayPort.
There's also a MagSafe power adapter, so if you trip over the charging cord, it detaches (rather than dragging your computer to the ground and toward its likely demise). This is one feature we wish Apple would have kept with its newer MacBooks.
We strongly suggest spending the extra $200 to get the newer Air for its better battery life and improved display, but if you're on a limited budget, last year's model is the most affordable MacBook available.
Most Powerful MacBook
Bottom Line: Apple's best laptop has a sleek design, excellent hardware, and outstanding performance.
The $1,299+ MacBook Pro is the most versatile Mac OS laptop available. It comes in two configurations — one with a Touch Bar and Touch ID, and the other without. We recommend the former.
With an 11.97-inch width and 0.59-inch height, it's a hair smaller and thinner than the MacBook Air. It weighs 3 pounds and it's outfitted with louder and more powerful speakers than other Mac laptops. It comes in space gray or silver colors. During our testing, we were big fans of its oversized trackpad, design, and its newly improved butterfly-mechanism keyboard.
The MacBook Pro's Retina displays are brighter and more vibrant and power efficient than any other MacBook. You have a choice of a 13.3-inch (2560-by-1600 pixel resolution) or 15.6-inch size (2,880-by-1,800 pixel resolution). Both offer exceptional quality, with accurate colors. The screen is gorgeous from any angle, and it has the same wide color gamut as the 5K iMac. The latest iteration also features 'True Tone technology,' a feature that automatically adjusts the white balance of the screen to match the ambient lighting in a room, which helps reduce eye strain.
As we previously stated, some MacBook Pros have a built-in second display, or a Touch Bar, which is a high-resolution multitouch display strip that changes functionality depending on what app you're using and the tasks you're performing. The Touch Bar models also support Touch ID for logging in, buying things from iTunes, the App Store, or using Apple Pay to purchase something online. Like the Air, the Pro comes with a 'T2 chip,' meaning you can call for Siri with your voice.
The more affordable MacBook Pro laptop comes with a dual-core seventh-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 Kaby Lake processor, while the more powerful and expensive model features a quad-core eighth-generation Intel Core i5 or i7 processors. These seventh-gen processors are dual-core, like the MacBook and MacBook Air, meaning you won’t notice as big of a difference in performance. If you splurge for the quad-core, you'll get some serious performance gains.
You have a choice of 128, 256, 512 GB, or 1, 2, or 4 TB of SSD storage, coupled with either 8, 16, or 32 GB of RAM. Depending on the price point, each 13-inch laptop comes equipped with the Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 or 655 GPU, with the latter being better suited for running more applications simultaneously. As for the 15-inch Pro models, they come standard with a discrete AMD Radeon Pro 555X graphics processors, but can be upgraded to a Radeon Pro 560X GPU for even better performance.
In daily use, the Pro delivers exceptionally fast performance. Compared to the previous generation of MacBook Pro, the newer version delivers a speed bump of up to 75% (thanks to its a 6‑core Intel Core i9 processor in the 15-inch option) during intensive tasks such as editing RAW photos, processing 4K video, and rendering 3D graphics. You'll have no issues switching back and forth between Adobe Lightroom, Final Cut X, and Photoshop with either model.
Those who need to edit 4K video with the cheaper 13-inch models, however, will likely be disappointed by occasional lag. Not only that, the models sans Touch Bar have two fewer ports, slower memory, and a weaker GPU. As for the Touch Bar Pro, it has four USB-C ports and a headphone jack. There's no longer an HDMI port or SD card slot on either model, and you'll need adapters to charge your Lightning cable mouse, trackpad, Bluetooth headphones, and iPhone.
Battery life is also worse than the other MacBooks. Apple says users should expect 10 hours, and during our time with the mid-2017 notebook, we got between 8 and 9 hours of mixed use from a single charge, but achieved closer to 10 hours with the mid-2018 Pro, which has a larger battery.
One last thing: The MacBook Pro's incredibly low-profile keyboard has also been reported to be more failure-prone than previous models. To address the issues, Apple now offers a 4-year warranty and free repair service for any customer who experiences problems with their MacBook's keyboard.
The mid-2018 Pro and MacBook Air did get an updated keyboard, but Apple says the new keyboard is quieter — not that it’s more reliable, and some people are still experiencing issues.
“We are aware that a small number of users are having issues with their third-generation butterfly keyboard and for that we are sorry,” an Apple spokesperson toldWall Street Journal in March 2019.'The vast majority of Mac notebook customers are having a positive experience with the new keyboard.” But he added that if you do have a problem, contact Apple customer service.
Most Portable MacBook
Apple
Bottom Line: The MacBook is quite zippy and has excellent battery life considering its small form factor.
Starting at $1,299, the MacBook has a sharp 12-inch Retina display and an ultra thin body. In fact, it's Apple's thinnest and lightest laptop ever — measuring 0.14 inches at its thinnest point and weighing just 2.03 pounds, compared to the Air's 2.75 pounds. It's available in silver, space gray, and gold.
It's also more expensive than the Air since its base model comes with a larger 256 GB SSD (the Air's is equipped with a 128 GB SSD). The MacBook's 12-inch screen offers a 2,304-by-1,440 resolution that seems smaller when watching videos, especially if you're used to a 13.3-inch screen. Its stereo speakers also aren't as loud and don't sound as good as other MacBooks do, either.
Wireless Mouse For Mac Pro
You have a choice of a 1.2GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core m3 processor, a 1.3 GHz dual-core seventh-generation Intel Core i5 processor, and a 1.4 GHz dual-core 7th-generation Intel Core i7 processor; each comes with 8 or 16 GB of RAM, Intel's integrated HD Graphics 615 GPU, and 256 or 512 GB of flash storage. We recommend the pricier and more powerful model for users who perform more demanding tasks that will require the extra processing power and storage space.
Even if you opt for the cheaper model with lower specs, the machine is more than capable of editing images in Photoshop, running several tabs in Chrome, or listening to Spotify while you're typing a Word document on its full-sized keyboard. It's worth mentioning, though, that the processor is a seventh-generation processor, not the newer eighth-generation Y-Series processor, so it's slower than both the MacBook Air and Pro.
Apple says you should get between 10 to 11 hours of battery life with its MacBook laptop. Ars Technica gave the MacBook its stamp of approval, calling it 'well-constructed and versatile' thanks to its increased speed, improved keyboard, and better battery life.
The MacBook lacks a fan and most ports that come standard on laptops, but what it lacks in ports, it makes up for in portability. Aside from its headphone jack (which Apple killed off on new iPhones back in 2016), the only other port the MacBook has is a single USB-C port, which it also uses for power. To make ends meet, you'll have to buy adapters or hubs to plug in all your peripherals or to charge your iPhone.
Apple hasn't updated its MacBook since July 2017. We really hope the tech giant will squeeze in an additional USB-C port on the device in future generations, but until then, you'll be stuck with one port. We strongly suggest opting for the MacBook Air over this laptop.
So, Which One's for Me?
The standard MacBook is a decent computer for casual on-the-go users who don't plan on gaming, working with 4K video, or importing several RAW image files. While it combines portability and performance in a beautiful package, its sole USB Type-C port will limit its appeal to power users, making us weary of recommending it. If you want the smallest MacBook available, though, it's the best choice.
The MacBook Air is going to appeal to most people. It's elegant and capable in equal measure. You get a full day of battery life in a thin and light laptop that's fast, equipped with an outstanding screen, and a stellar trackpad.
But there's no doubt that the MacBook Pro is the best, most powerful Apple laptop, and if you're a professional looking for ultimate performance on every occasion, this is the MacBook to get — but you'll have to pay a premium price for it! The MacBook Pro is a beautiful computer that offers an excellent blend of design, performance, as well as the best trackpad in the business.

Why we like it: This Macbook Pro Sleeve Case features a lightweight, portable design that is very simple and environmentally-friendly (meaning no harmful materials involved).
We kick off our list with a Macbook Pro case that has been a big hit with many Macbook Pro owners. ProCase shows us that simplicity and efficiency is all you need with their Macbook Sleeve Cover Bag. Let’s start with the case’s highly-compatible size. The dimensions of the case are: 14.5 x 10.5 x 1.5 inches (for external) and 14 x 10 x 1.1 inches (for internal). The case is compatible with the Surface Laptop/Surface Book, the 13″ to 15″ Macbook Pro and most 12″ to 13″ Laptop Computers. So even if you don’t have a Macbook Pro, you can still use this case so long as you have a 12 or 13 inch laptop!
Let’s move on to the build of this case. The case is slim, portable, and lightweight which allows you to simply carry it alone, or slide it into a bigger bag such as a briefcase or a backpack. The case’s portability makes it perfect for taking your laptop to work, school, or on a trip. What is the best spam filter for yahoo mail. What’s really great about this case is that it’s made of soft and environmentally friendly materials. The case can effectively protect your laptop against dust, dirt, scratches, bumps, and shocks. One consistent flaw we found with this case, however, is that because the case is so lightweight, it appears to be “too flimsy,” as one customer put into words. Another complaint was that the handle could use some improvement and that a strap would have been nicer. Minus those minor flaws, this case received consistently great ratings. If you liked what you read about this product, it can be yours for $18.
